Dr. Yang Gao is currently a Professor in the Department of Geomatics Engineering at The University of Calgary, Canada. His research interests focus on high-precision global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). He has authored more than 300 journal and conference publications whose research contributions have been recognized by major national and international awards including the Thurlow Award from the US Institute of Navigation (ION) and the Research Excellence Summit Award from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. He is a Fellow of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and a Fellow of the ION. Dr. Gao’s research results have been transferred to the industry in Canada and internationally for commercial product development. He has served on the editorial boards of six international journals and has served as the chair of the technical commissions on precision GNSS at IAG.
