Dr. Yang Gao is a Professor in Department of Geomatics Engineering at The University of Calgary. Prior to joining The University of Calgary, he was a NSERC post-doc fellow at Geodetic Survey of Canada and held several positions in the industrial sector including research scientist and manager of GNSS research and development. His research interests focus on high-precision GNSS and integration with other enabling sensors such as INS. He has authored more than 250 publications and has been serving on the editorial boards of five international journals including Journal of Geodesy. His research contributions have been recognized by a number of national and international academic and best paper awards. His research work in the area of high-precision GNSS has been commercialized and implemented by government and industrial organizations for service and product development. He organized and participated in organizing many national and international conferences. He is the current Vice-Chair of International Association of Geodesy (IAG) Sub-Commission on Multi-Constellation GNSS. He is an IAG fellow and has been a chairguestadjunct professor at several universities in Canada and aboard. He is a Changjiang Scholar and is the Founding President of International Association of Professionals in Global Positioning Systems (CPGPS).
