Based on the research content and research directions of the papers submitted to this year's Conference, the S01 Session has comprehensively considered and planned 8 major themed activities, which are: applications in transportation, meteorological agriculture, earth and space science, public security, aviation industry, data processing, GNSS remote sensing, reflectometry and innovative applications. These 8 themed activities also cover the current research and applications related to hot topics of the satellite navigation technology. Based on these 8 themed activities, the S01 Session invited authoritative experts from aviation and aerospace related universities and research institutes at home and abroad to give invited presentations to elaborate on the new progress and needs of industry applications of satellite navigation systems from different perspectives. Each themed activity opened with an invited presentation and then led to  general oral presentations based on the corresponding themed activity. After a full academic exchange and discussion, new ideas, technologies, methods and innovative application achievements of related industry applications under the themed activity were presented, so that the participants could fully understand and grasp the current prospects for applications of China's satellite navigation industry and the development direction of BDS industrialization.

The transportation application topic: Mr. Lu Hongyang, Assistant General Manager of Spatial Information Division of China Transport Telecommunications & Information Center, gave an invited presentation on the current situation of international BDS-based search and rescue (SAR) service and its application outlook, introducing the current situation of global satellite-aided SAR system and the construction of international BDS-based SAR system from space segment, ground segment, user segment and alarm situations respectively, and giving an outlook for applications of international SAR services in maritime, civil aviation, personal SAR, BDS return link and next-generation star-ground processing system etc. Then, Zhang Tao from Beijing Jiaotong University gave a presentation on “Methods for Identification of Train Positioning Environmental Scenes Based on Historical Data Feature Extraction”. The presentation focused on the identification of train positioning environmental scenes and proposed a railroad scene matching method based on FSO and GNSS historical observation data to identify the scenes along the railway lines, providing a basis for the selection of train positioning methods and the evaluation of positioning performance. Li Jialei from Beijing Jiaotong University gave a presentation on “Research on Train Integrity Monitoring Method Based on Multi-Constellation Mobile Baseline Resolution”. The presentation explained the principle of the proposed train integrity monitoring method, i.e. combing GPS and BDS with equal weights and unifying the time and space systems, using double-difference carrier phase to eliminate the errors in the propagation path and satellite clock errors, calculating the length of the moving baseline between two antennas dynamically in real time by using Kalman filtering algorithm and then comparing the length with the actual train length to achieve train integrity monitoring.
